Kannur: The arrest of the accused in the murder of Haridas (Haridas Murder Case) in Thalassery New Mahi Punnol may be recorded today. Currently, 7 people are in custody. BJP councilor Lijesh and others are being questioned. Police are investigating whether they were directly involved in the murder. Police also intensified their search for the bike on which the accused were traveling. Haridasan was hacked to death following returning home from work yesterday morning. The CPM has blamed the BJP for the attack.

Meanwhile, Haridasan’s body was buried in the yard of his house yesterday evening. Haridas’ last rites were held in an atmosphere fraught with the slogans of more than 100 party workers. Haridas was attacked in the backyard. The family is still reeling from the shock of Haridas’ death. Senior CPM leaders of the district MV Jayarajan, P Jayarajan and AN Shamsir MLA were present on the occasion.
Haridasan, a CPM activist, and his brother Surendran were threatened in connection with the clash at the temple in Punnol. Surendran was hacked to death in the clash at the temple. After this, Haridas and Surendran might not even go to work. The body was brought home from Kannur Government Medical College, Pariyaram on a mourning procession. Police have beefed up security at the site to prevent clashes following the funeral. Disputes between Plus Two students escalated into political clashes and assassinations.
Haridas was the mainstay of the house. Haridas, his brother and family lived together. Haridas was a man who worked hard to make a living, even though he had a strong political affiliation. Seven people were taken into custody in the incident. The gang members who had clashed with Haridasan at the Punnol temple were taken into custody. City Councilor R Elango said BJP councilor Lijesh, who made the threatening speech, would also be taken into custody. The investigation is being led by the New Mahi SHO. The investigation into the murder turned into six groups.
It is unknown at this time what he will do following leaving the post. The matter is being investigated. The commissioner clarified that Haridasan’s murder was a political assassination at this stage and said that the investigation was at a critical stage and all the accused would be arrested soon.

Deep wounds were found in four places below the right knee. The inquest report states that he also had deep cuts on his left arm.
