[아이뉴스24 유지희 기자] When former national speed skater Noh Noh-yeong (33) lost a lawsuit for damages related to so-called ‘bullying driving’ with Kim Bo-reum (29), a national speed skater, he appealed once morest the judgment of the first trial.
According to the legal circles on the 21st, Noh Noh-young’s side filed an appeal with the Civil Division 36 of the Seoul Central District Court on the 17th (Presiding Judge Hwang Soon-hyeon).
Earlier, on the 16th, the court ruled in favor of some of the plaintiffs, saying, “Roh Seon-young should pay 3 million won to Kim Bo-reum” in a lawsuit filed by Kim Bo-reum for 200 million won once morest Noh Seon-young.

The court did not accept Kim Bo-reum’s claim that she suffered damage from Noh Noh-young’s interview, saying, “Some of the facts that appear to be false are not directly referring to the plaintiff, but raising a problem with the Federation or exaggerating what the defendant felt.”
Bo-reum Kim competed with Noh Noh-yeong and Ji-woo Park in the quarterfinals of the women’s speed skating team overtaking at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, but was embroiled in a ‘bullying driving controversy’. In this match, Kim Bo-reum and Park Ji-woo crossed the finish line first, and Noh Noh-young came in a long time later, and it was pointed out that Kim Bo-reum did not take care of Noh Noh-young, the last runner, and at the same time, a controversy over the attitude that he had a bad expression during the interview arose.
As a result of the audit, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that the ‘bullying driving’ was not true. In an audit report released in October of that year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, “The allegation that a certain player (Kim Bo-reum) deliberately accelerated is not true.
Since then, Kim Bo-reum filed a claim for damages of 200 million won once morest Noh Seon-yeong in 2020 following an interview with the media alleging that he had been subjected to constant harassment and verbal abuse by Noh Seon-young in January 2019.
