The photo was revealed this Friday, a year following the British media published videos of the ‘captive princess’, daughter of the ruler of Dubai and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), securing that her family supports her as “hostage” in a village that qualifies as a “prison” and where she has been surrounded by the police since 2018, when she tried to escape without success.
Since then, the UN Human Rights office, together with organizations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, as well as the UK Foreign Office, have closely followed the case and have even asked the UAE authorities a “proof of life” from Latifa.
For its part, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in London assuredthat the princess “is being cared for at home, under the support of her family and professional doctors.”
