Surprise for the three-point contest, new record at stake!

For this 2022 edition, no doubt: the three-point contest was much more exciting than the dunk contest. With a Trae Young in the final, it was still Karl-Anthony Towns who found the way to win. It must be said that the pivot caught on, with a new record at stake.

This is not necessarily the most anticipated competition, but we are always curious to see the shooters at work at three points for the All-Star Game. For this new edition, no Steph Curry, or Seth for that matter. CJ McCollum was present, as was Zach LaVine. The favorite of the evening? No doubt Trae Young, who managed to climb to the final.

Unexpected outcome for the three-point contest!

This is also the case of Luke Kennard, Clippers player, who was able to create the surprise. Nevertheless, neither of these two men managed to lift the trophy. This honor goes to Karl-Anthony Towns, who took the opportunity to take the competition record from Devin Booker, with 29 points for his last round!

Towns had qualified as the best shooting center a while ago, and we can see why. He took the opportunity to join Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Love as the only interiors to have won the competition. With a score of 29, we cannot say that the Wolves player stole it.

As usual, we leave you with the entire contest, which was clearly not the worst of the evening:

Karl-Anthony Towns three-point contest champion? He was not the favorite, but he assumed his words. Nice victory for the pivot, who will not have made the trip to Cleveland for nothing.
