In a multilateral virtual confrontation, the results of a public opinion poll on the 20th showed that presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, who is the power of the people, outperformed Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung, out of the margin of error.
As a result of a Realmeter survey of 3,043 people over the age of 18 across the country from the 13th to the 18th, commissioned by OhmyNews, Candidate Yoon recorded 42.9% and candidate Lee 38.7%, respectively.
Candidate Yoon rose 1.3 percentage points from a week ago, and candidate Lee fell 0.4 percentage points.
The gap between the two candidates widened from 2.5 percentage points to 4.2 percentage points, which was outside the margin of error (±1.8 percentage points at the 95% confidence level).
People’s Party candidate Ahn Cheol-soo rose 0.6 percentage points to 8.3 percent, and Justice Party candidate Shim Sang-jung rose 0.4 percentage points to 3.2 percent, respectively.
In the survey asking regarding the possibility of winning, Candidate Yoon recorded 49.4%, up 0.6 percentage points from the previous week, and Candidate Lee at 41.3%, down 1.3 percentage points.
The gap between the two candidates is 8.1 percentage points, which is outside the margin of error.
In terms of party support, the people’s strength rose 2.0 percentage points to 38.8 percent, and the Democratic Party fell 1.1 percentage points to 37.1 percent.
The People’s Party rose 0.8 percentage points to 7.5% and the Justice Party rose 0.3 percentage points to 3.6%, respectively.
During this period, 42.4% of the respondents who positively evaluated President Moon’s performance in state affairs, down 0.8 percentage points from the previous survey, and 54.1%, who evaluated negatively, by 1.2 percentage points.
This survey was conducted through a telephone interview (30%) and an automatic response (70%) method by sampling wireless (95%) and wired (5%) samples using random dialing (RDD).
