Twenty years during which the Egyptian singer Hanan was absent from the media and artistic scene, following she was one of the most famous stars of the nineties of the last century, before she decided in 1997 to retire and stay away from singing permanently, to later wear the hijab, and then take it off following 5 years.
But following many years spent in Germany, she returned to Egypt, and appeared on several social occasions, in which she participated in singing and dancing to recover what she missed.
Former pop star Hanan, who appeared and starred in the Friends band, accompanied by the late musician Ammar Al-Sharei, and also alone, recently appeared in a television interview on an Egyptian channel, during which she revealed many secrets.

Perhaps the most prominent thing that she revealed was the reason for her retirement, explaining that her daughter, who was 4 years old at the time, pushed her to leave art following she told her, “It’s me, Mama, I will see you.”
This orientation was also reinforced by the fact that her child’s nanny was beating her during her absence, so Hanan decided to devote herself to motherhood and stay at home.
In addition, she indicated that she still wishes to return to the hijab, and revealed that her husband asked her in Germany not to wear it, but she made it clear that she had taken this request as a justification, saying, “I did not believe that he said that,” to take off the hijab following 5 years of wearing it.

She also talked regarding her love story for her Egyptian-German husband, whom she met following her separation and divorce, when she was in a health crisis and might not move and walk.
Some people told her that there was an Egyptian-German doctor who came to Egypt for one day only.
Indeed, the next day she was able to walk, and later a love affair developed between them, which ended in marriage.
