Pressure hospital due to the pandemic Covid-19 continues to decrease, with in particular half as many new hospitalizations in 24 hours, while contaminations also drop, according to figures published this Saturday by Public health France.
French hospitals currently have 28,632 patients with Covid-19, compared to 29,194 the day before and 31,522 a week earlier. The easing of this pressure is particularly visible on new hospitalizations: 978 in 24 hours once morest 1,795 the day before and 1,329 last Saturday.
This downward trend is also found in critical care services, which receive the most serious cases, in particular in intensive care, with 2,918 patients (including 127 new admissions), once morest 2,970 the day before and 3,324 a week ago.
Declining death toll
The number of deaths in hospital is experiencing the same trend, with 148 deaths in 24 hours once morest 273 the day before and 161 a week earlier. In two years of the epidemic, the Covid has caused the death of 108,592 people in hospital and 136,594 in France in total.
On the contamination side, the drop is also confirmed: the laboratories recorded 76,638 positive cases over 24 hours, almost 10,000 less than Friday (85,553), once morest 118,611 last Saturday. The daily average over seven days, which makes it possible to smooth out the differences observed from one day to the next, is particularly eloquent with 86,509 positive cases once morest 145,619 the previous week.
