Germany and France this Saturday urged its citizens to leave as soon as possible Ukraineat a time of growing Western fears of a russian invasion to this former Soviet republic.

Germany and France ask their citizens to leave Ukraine

German citizens are urgently requested to leave Ukraine now, the German Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website.

In the same sense, France recommended that all its citizens leave Ukraine and asked those who are in the most exposed areas of the east of the country to leave “without delay,” the Foreign Ministry said.

Meanwhile Lufthansa will suspend regular flights to Kiev and Odessa from Monday until the end of February, a spokesman for the German airline said on Saturday.

The company will continue to operate flights to the city of Lviv, in the west of the country.
