Valiant will close its branches in Tavannes and Bassecourt

The other 21 branches affected by the restructuring are located in the German-speaking part of the country.

Valiant will close two branches in French-speaking Switzerland as part of its restructuring announced on Thursday. The sites of Bassecourt, in the Jura, and Tavannes, in the Bernese Jura, will disappear during the course of the year, the Bernese banking group indicated on Friday.

The other 21 branches concerned are located in the Germanic part of the country, including Beinwil am See, Boniswil, Breitenbach, Buchrain, Büron, Fraubrunnen, Gontenschwil, Gränichen, Grosswangen, Ittigen, Kehrsatz, Mühleberg, Nebikon, Neuenegg, Reiden, Schiden, Schiden Signau, Toffen, Trubschachen, Wohlen (BE) et Zollbrück.

As announced on Thursday, Valiant wants to cross out sites that are too close to each other in its historical catchment area – namely the regions of Bern and Lucerne.

The restructuring will lead to the loss of 50 jobs. The planned measures will enable annual savings of 12 to 15 million francs and improve the return on equity by around 0.5 percentage points. Valiant will, however, create 170 full-time positions between 2022 and 2024, including 140 in customer consulting.
