From February 23rd, Chamisul, Jinro and other soju products are awarded
Since the beginning of this year, food prices have been rising one following another, while the price of soju, the ‘Kookminju’, is also rising.
Hite Jinro (CEO Kim In-gyu) announced on the 18th that it would raise the factory price of soju products.
Hite Jinro announced that it will raise the factory price of Chamisul Fresh and Chamisul Original by 7.9% from February 23 (00:00). The 360ml bottle and some pets are the subject of impressions.
Jinro is raising its factory price for the first time since its launch in 2019. Same as Chamisul, it will increase by 7.9%. Even following the hike, Jinro maintains a lower price than Chamisul.
However, the company explained that Ilpoom Jinro was excluded from this increase in order to revitalize the premium soju market.
A Hite Jinro official said, “Recently, the cost of raw materials has risen significantly in all directions, such as raw and subsidiary material prices, logistics costs, engineering fees, and manufacturing costs. A factor of 14% or more of price increase has occurred and continues, but the increase rate was decided in a way that minimizes the burden on consumers through a multi-faceted review.”
