Arrival of the fifth: 11 – 13 – 12 – 9 – 7
The Paris-Vincennes racecourse (Paris XII) hosted the fifth of the day with sixteen competitors, aged 7 to 11 inclusive, competing on the classic course of 2,700 m on the main track. This European race has returned to regular caponet’s devil (#11). The event was rhythmic and the partner of Alexandre Abrivard quickly found himself in third position. After losing ground in the final corner, he produced excellent acceleration in the final phase before resisting the good end of the race of From Rio (#13). This 9-year-old gelding won his second quinté to the delight of his owner Eddy Planchenault who declared on the microphone of Equidia: “He is having a great winter meeting. I had a little trouble with him. His trainer Laurent-Claude Abrivard does a wonderful job. The change of environment and work method have been beneficial to him. »
Third of the quinté disputed on February 6 on this track, From Rio (n°13) confirms this very good outing. Patiently driven by Thomas Levesque, this outsider proposed at 37/1 drew an excellent end of the race to take the first runners-up, narrowly failing for success. Also outsider (34/1), the well-known, Sweet Scent (n°12) sets the record straight. Still in the leading group, he showed himself to be catchy to keep third place. He is ahead Free Man (#9) and Eliot d’Ambri (n°7), dressed in the same gown as the winner.
Favorite of Iton (#3) and Dragster de Bomo (n°5) were at fault and were disqualified while the favourite, Tjacko Zaz (#15) was a disappointing ninth following entering the finish line first.
Kevin Romain indicated the quartet in disorder in six horses.
