A press release announced that the light novels written by Mayoidoufu and illustrated by Kurogin, Kuro no Shoukanshi (Black Summoner: A Combat Maniac’s Ascension), will have an anime adaptation. The press release confirmed the voice cast and production team, adding that the premiere is scheduled for this year in Japan.
Mayoidoufu began publishing the novel independently through the site Shousetsuka ni Narou and to date it already accumulates more than 1.4 million copies in circulation, being published through the publisher OVERLAP in Japan since June 2016. A manga adaptation by Gin Amou is in publication through the service Comic Gardo since January 2018.
