Among the very useful new features of iOS 15.4, we find of course Face ID authentication with a mask and emojis, but let’s not forget the possibility of adding the European vaccine passport in the Health and Cards apps (formerly Wallet). This function allows to speed up the presentation of the certificate to enter public places, although TousAntiCovid offers a widget since last summer.
Unfortunately, the first beta of iOS 15.4 was buggy and adding the passport to Apple’s apps was impossible. The third beta, available from yesterday eveningofficially corrects the problem that affected France and Ireland, but also Singapore.
iOS 15.4 (almost) allows you to add your vaccine passport to Health and Maps ????
After identifying the QR code via the Camera app (you can also test the excellent button code scanner from the Control Center), an information panel is displayed which offers to add the passport to the Maps and Health applications. And this time, it works as we have been able to test it.
In the Health app, saving the passport creates a new category Vaccines in which we will find all the information of the vaccines in question. The QR code is then available directly in Maps, just double-click on the ignition button of the iPhone to bring up the app and select the vaccine map.
