The renowned 62-year-old actor died last Sunday in Medellín, due to Covid-19.
Since December 23, 2021, the actor Fabio Restrepo he was admitted to the Sagrado Corazón clinic in Medellín; first due to low blood sugar and then he was diagnosed with Covid-19, a disease that took him to the Intensive Care Unit, where he finally died on February 13.

The Risaraldense actor became known in 2004, when he starred in the film Addition and subtraction, Directed by Victor Gaviria. There he played Gerardo, a drug trafficker. He was also part of other great productions such as Without boobs there is no paradise, Rosario Tijeras, Escobar, the patron saint of evil, The Selection, Lady, the seller of Roses, among other. His most recent project was Hitmen’s offices.

This is how Fabio Restrepo went from being a taxi driver to an actor
Before being an actor, Fabio Restrepo dedicated his life to driving a taxi in Medellín. One day a passenger got on board who ended up completely changing his life. Victor Gaviria, director of Lady, the seller of roses, he saw it, and from the beginning he knew he had the ‘wood’ to become a great actor. Gaviria is also known as the industry’s natural ‘headhunters’, so did not hesitate to hire Fabio Restrepo to co-star in the film Addition and subtraction, the same with which he later obtained several awards: Best Actor Award at the Cartagena de Indias Film Festival; the Miami Latino Film Festival; the Marseille Film Festival and the Toulouse Film Festival.
Since then, Fabio Restrepo has opened the field not only on television, but also in the cinema, with films such as Satan, Garcia, Royal Building and Millionaire Talent.
