The problem of the budget session “a storm in a cup” .. to discuss the electricity plan Turn!

Ghassan Rifi wrote in “The Ambassador of the North”:

Today, attention is directed to the cabinet session, which appears to be held naturally and without political tensions, in light of what happened in the previous session, which angered the Shiite duo’s ministers who objected to the military appointments that were proposed outside the agenda, and considered that the budget was passed without voting. on her.

It can be said that what happened in the budget session has become a thing of the past and has ended, as the meeting that took place between Prime Minister Najib Mikati, the political aide to President Nabih Berri, MP Ali Hassan Khalil, and the political assistant to Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hajj Hussein Khalil, put the points on the letters. After many points were clarified, especially with regard to appointments that were necessary for the military establishment and had nothing to do with any political maliciousness, especially since President Mikati refuses to turn the cabinet into a platform for settling accounts or scoring points between the conflicting parties, at a time when it is assumed that Intensifies its meetings to address life and social affairs.

The meeting, which was very positive, concluded that what happened in the budget session was just a “storm in a teacup.”

As for the budget, the ministers almost preserved its provisions due to the intensive sessions that were held in the morning and evening and over days, as they worked to discuss it in detail before approving it, especially the Minister of Finance who is affiliated with the “Shiite duo”, and therefore the talk regarding not voting on it or not The ministers’ obtaining the final version of it seemed like an attempt aimed at satisfying the street, especially following the angry popular reactions to the budget, which President Mikati took in his chest for being keen on frankness with the people regarding the bitter reality in which the state and its finances are floundering, as the ministers were supposed to translate ministerial solidarity by standing into On the part of the Prime Minister, as they are partners in approving this budget and not disavowing it in this way.

There is no doubt that Prime Minister Mikati set the record straight through his decisive response through his media office, as it was clear that he might not compromise on the issue of powers, and therefore he alone is authorized to set the agenda of the Council of Ministers, and that the President of the Republic, who presides over the session in the event of his presence, has the right He may bring up an item outside the agenda, totally rejecting the interference of any party in his powers.

In this context, the Shiite duo had announced that the return of his ministers to the Council of Ministers was not to accuse him of obstruction and to address the citizens’ living and social affairs, and this return was not the result of any deal or settlement, especially in light of President Mikati’s rejection of the logic of settlements at the expense of institutions. The government did not commit with the duo not to put up items outside the agenda, especially since this is a constitutional matter, and no one has promised not to make any appointments, especially since some of them are very necessary, as is the case with the completion of the Military Council.

The information indicates that the cabinet session is supposed to take place today in a positive atmosphere on the basis of “peace is good” and that dealing with the affairs of the Lebanese is ahead of all other differences, and it may not address any new appointments, as it is dedicated to discussing the electricity plan that It will be presented by Energy Minister Walid Fayyad, where it will be discussed and ministers will put their comments on it, and it may need a second session or more to approve it.
