LG has unveiled a pair of flagship 4K CineBeam series projectors. The ultra short throw model HU715Q is capable of producing images up to 120 inches diagonally, while the new HU710P uses a combined laser/LED backlight for projections up to 300 inches.
According to LG, the projectors are designed specifically for moviegoers and guesthouses with a large number of viewers and, in addition to excellent brightness, picture and sound quality, support the most popular webOS streaming applications.
As planned by the creators, the design of the HU715Q allows the model to be easily integrated into the home interior, the model can be installed very close to the reflective screen. The novelty is capable of providing a resolution of 4K UHD (3840 × 2160 pixels). From a distance of 21.7 cm to the screen, the projector is capable of forming a 100-inch image, and the maximum diagonal is 120 inches. Laser illumination delivers 2500 ANSI lumens of brightness, supports 85% DCI-P3 color gamut, and motorized focus can be controlled with a remote control.
The projector has an integrated Atmos-compatible system with 20W speakers, two woofers and two tweeters located on the front panel and two more woofers on the back. In addition, the ability to connect up to two Bluetooth speakers allows you to create the effect of “sound around”. There are three HDMI ports, as well as two USB 2.0 and Ethernet, Wi-Fi support and MiraCast screen mirroring.
The HU710P offers the same resolution but has a hybrid laser/LED backlight and is capable of imaging up to 300 inches – it needs more space to work properly. From a distance of 4.3 m, the novelty can show 150-inch video, and from 1.1 m – “only” 40-inch. Displays 94% DCI-P3 color gamut, provides 2000 ANSI lumens of brightness, and has built-in 5W speakers.
Both projector have the function of optimizing brightness depending on the illumination of the room, contrast up to 2,000,000:1, support HDR10, HLG and HgiG, as well as other functions.
Owners can enjoy popular services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus and Apple TV thanks to webOS 6.0 operating system, it is possible to show movies in a “cinema” way – the aspect ratio, frame rate and colors typical of movie theaters are provided. The backlight is enough for 20,000 hours of operation.
Both models will be presented in Europe, Asia and North America in the current quarter, following which they will go to the markets of the Middle East and Latin America. Prices will be announced later.
