Emirates News Agency – Arruabarina begins his mission with our national team from Al Wasl Stadium

DUBAI, 14th February/WAM/ The Argentine coach, Rodolfo Arruabarrena, started his mission by following the two first leg matches of the semi-finals of the President’s Cup, which was held today.

Arruabarina was present at the Al Wasl and Sharjah match, which was held at Al Wasl Stadium in Zabeel, before moving to Al Nahyan Stadium in Al Wahda Club to follow up on the Al Wahda and Baniyas meeting.

The match between Al Wasl and Sharjah ended in a goalless draw, while Al Wahda beat Baniyas by four goals to one.

The Emirates Football Association announced yesterday the signing of Argentine coach Arruabarina to lead the Emirates national team instead of Dutchman Van Marwijk, as the new coach’s contract extends until the 2023 Asian Cup.

The UAE national team is preparing to complete the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, as it has two matches left with Iraq on March 24, and South Korea on the 29th of the same month.

Our first national football team occupies third place in the standings of the first group of the 2022 World Cup final qualifiers with 9 points, while the group leads the Iran team with 22 points, then South Korea 20 points, Lebanon fourth with 6 points, Iraq fifth with 5 points, then Syria Last two points.

Our national team also aspires to qualify for the World Cup through the Asian supplement gate.
