Mr. Stollorz, you founded the German Science Media Center. It is well known among journalists that many relied on the analyzes and reports of the Science Media Center during the pandemic, especially when it came to new studies on Sars-CoV-2. How would you explain your work to someone who has never heard of the Science Media Center?
The Science Media Center is an intermediary between science and journalism. We are an independent, public-interest-oriented, editorial institution. The goal is to support journalists in reporting on topics related to science, like a supplier of good raw materials. We review studies, obtain expert opinions and organize press briefings. We alone take care of complex, confusing topics that become relevant to the public, such as climate change, artificial intelligence or Covid-19.
