The politicization of gas markets in Europe does no good to anyone

The Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, said today, Monday, in a speech during a sector conference, which was broadcast by Egyptian television through an interpreter, that the politicization of gas markets in Europe does not benefit anyone.

Gas prices in Europe jumped at the beginning of trading on Monday, in light of the situation surrounding Ukraine, due to media reports regarding an alleged Russian attack on Ukraine.

And the agency “TASS” reported that gas futures contracts in Europe rose today by 13.7 percent, to rise above the level of $ 1000 per thousand cubic meters.

Trading showed that the price of the March futures contract at the TTF center in the Netherlands rose to the level of 1031.8 dollars per thousand cubic meters.
