As expected for a few months, Samsung presented its new products at Samsung Unpacked 2022. The stars of the event were of course the smartphones of the Galaxy S22 range and the Galaxy Tab S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra tablets. However, the South Korean firm did not limit itself to these announcements.
She took the opportunity to inform the audience that the LumaFusion multitrack video editor will be available very soon in the Galaxy Store. It must be said that it is one of the best (not to say the best) mobile video editing apps.
LumaFusion, available in Android version thanks to Samsung
The LumaFusion mobile app can be thought of as a smartphone version of Adobe Premiere or Final Cut. It is considered by many users to be the best in its category.
The only problem is that it is currently only available on the App Store. People with devices running Android cannot use it. An anomaly that the developer of LumaFusion has been working on for some time.
The latter seeks to offer an Android version of its application to users. For this, it has partnered with Samsung to optimize the video editor to the specifics of Samsung devices. Particular emphasis is placed on the new tablet Tab S8 Ultra. The latter, in addition to the new improved S Pen which benefits from the contribution of the ultra-low latency prediction algorithm, is capable of recording videos in 4 K.
To run the Android version of LumaFusion, tablets and smartphones will need to have at least Android 11. The application will be available in eleven different languages. No date has been given regarding the release of the application. Everything should depend on the evolution of the project.
Samsung has, however, indicated that the LumaFusion for Android should be available in the Galaxy Store before the end of the first half of 2022.
Samsung wants to go following Apple
The iPad now seems untouchable compared to other tablets on the market. To succeed in this feat, Apple has done everything possible to optimize its applications with its tablets. A choice that paid off.
Samsung in turn wants to bet on this strategy to tickle Apple on its land. This largely explains the partnership that the firm has established with the developer of LumaFusion. And Samsung does not intend to stop only at the video editing application for smartphones.
The South Korean multinational has also announced that it has signed an exclusive partnership contract with Clip Studio Paint. The latter is a mobile painting and drawing application that works from a subscription system.
By becoming an exclusive partner of the application, Samsung allows people with a Galaxy device to enjoy six months free access to a part of Clip Studio Paint. This is basically the EX version of the app designed for animations, manga, and general art work.
Unlike LumaFusion, Clip Studio Paint is already available on the Galaxy Store and can even work with Android 9.
