Russia-Ukraine conflict; Biden warns Putin

United States US President Joe Biden has warned Russian President Vladimir Putin that an attack on Ukraine might provoke a backlash from Western nations. Biden’s warning came during a phone conversation between the two yesterday over the Ukraine issue. The White House said the conversation, which began at 11.04am US time on Saturday (9.34pm Indian time on Saturday), lasted more than an hour.

Biden told Putin that talks between the two sides did not ease any tensions. Following the US, several countries have recently called for the repatriation of their citizens from Ukraine. Portugal and Belgium issued similar instructions yesterday.
