Chelsea win the Club World Cup for the first time in their history

The English team, Chelsea, won the FIFA Club World Cup, following defeating the Brazilian Palmeiras, 2-1, during the meeting that was held at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the capital, Abu Dhabi.

The English team Chelsea were crowned champions of the FIFA Club World Cup in the 18th edition, for the first time in their history, following beating the Brazilian team Palmeiras, 2-1, in the final match that brought them together, on Saturday evening, at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Al Jazira Club in Abu Dhabi, following a marathon match that lasted 120 minutes, following the original match time ended in a positive tie, 1-1.

Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku advanced to Chelsea in the 55th minute, with a missile header to the right of Palmeiras goalkeeper Weaverton, and Rafael Vega equalized the score for Palmeiras by scoring the equalizer from a penalty awarded by Australian referee Chris Beth, following referring to the video referee technology “the mouse”, for the presence of a handball on a defender Chelsea.

In the second extra time, German Haveritz scored the second goal for Chelsea from a penalty kick as well, touching the ball by the hand of Palmeiras defender Luan, before the same defender received a red card in the last minute of extra time.
