An “Important” statement from the Minister of Health regarding the “MOPHPASS platform”!

The media office of the Minister of Public Health, Firas Al-Abyad, announced in a statement, “Following the investigations that were launched immediately following revealing a number of personal data registered on the MOPHPASS platform at Hariri International Airport, the loophole that might be breached was identified and the necessary tests were conducted to ensure that it was addressed and that the breach would not be repeated. Note that this breach affected a limited number of data of public figures without reaching the limit of control of the platform.Work is ongoing to develop security standards on the platform in order to keep pace with all cyber risks and reduce them.

He added, “Also, the General Directorate of Public Security was informed, in meetings devoted to this issue, of everything related to the MOPHPASS platform, and all internal investigations conducted by the Ministry were referred to the Directorate, which will follow up on the necessary investigations. The Ministry of Public Health referred the matter to the Public Prosecution and took the nature of the allegation on Everyone identified by the investigation is an active participant in the breach.”

He continued, “The Ministry thanks “the rapid response of the work team, especially the POTECH CONSULTING company, which acts as a consultant to investigate, evaluate and recommend improvements to the platform’s security without being responsible for its management or application of security measures on it. It confirms that the MOPHPASS platform will be closed as soon as the health need for it is no longer”. At the present time, however, it is still necessary in the face of the pandemic, knowing that it is one of the mechanization programs implemented by the Ministry and which it seeks as part of its strategy to develop and modernize work and ensure its transparency.
