Resident Evil 4: the remake is becoming clearer, changes to be expected | Xbox One

Not yet convinced by the existence of Resident Evil 4 Remake? The latest information from Fanbyte should convince you and we can say that Capcom is not sparing itself.

Back to basics in sight?

Whether you like them or not, be sure of one thing: Capcom isn’t done with Resident Evil remakes! The excellent figures of second and the third opus (5 million copies sold for both) have enough to make the studio smile, so why stop there? Although still waiting for a real press release for several months, Resident Evil 4 Remake seems to be inexorably approaching formalization. After VGC or VG247, today is the site Fanbyte which adds a layer with new revelations on its development.

Our American colleagues thus tell us that a lot of elements would be in the process of being modified compared to the 2005 game, starting with the scenario which would be somewhat different from that proposed by its elder, thanks to an atmosphere more oriented towards the horror. Fanbyte cites the introduction of Resident Evil 4 remake, which would start directly at night and in a darker and scarier village. A good part of the adventure would also take place before the first light of day, while several secondary characters would have a more important role this time. A way to draw inspiration from the first demos of the game presented at the time on Nintendo GameCube.

A facelift to be expected for another game mode?

Already colossal, the story mode would not be Capcom’s only project. The developer would also have in mind to revisit the Separate Ways mode of the PS2 version, combining it with the Assignment mode: Ada, of the GameCube version, which might be unlocked following completing the main story. The goal behind this idea would be to mix the two modes to offer real, more complete content. The latter might be offered in the main story or in DLC, but according to rumors, it would be a rich and more coherent content than originally. As a reminder, you played the character of Ada Wong in a mini-campaign during which you had to collect samples of the Plaga parasite for Albert Wesker.

Fanbyte’s analysis concludes by specifying that the formalization might take place at the start of 2022, but plays it safe. This period might indeed be extended, the fault of internal development and marketing delays. It should also be noted that the development would have been complicated due to a change of developer along the way: originally entrusted to the M-Two studio, to whom we owe the mixed remake of Resident Evil 3, the project would have gone back in-house since. The announcement and formalization of Resident Evil 4 remake would only be a matter of weeks now.
