Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the acting Minister of Health and Population, held a press conference, with the participation of Major General Adel Ghadban, Governor of Port Said, and Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, President of the Public Authority for Health Care, today, Saturday, at the General Court of Port Said Governorate.
The conference came to review the current situation in the comprehensive health insurance system since President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, launched the system in the governorate in July 2019, and to follow up on the level of quality of medical services provided to the system’s beneficiaries.
The minister explained that the inspection tour that he made in Port Said governorate today came in implementation of the directives of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, to follow up on the progress of the comprehensive health insurance system, on the ground, in the governorates of the first phase of implementing the system, and to ensure that citizens obtain the best level of health insurance. The medical service, confirming the continuation of field visits to the rest of the governorates of the first phase, which include “Ismailia, Suez, Luxor, Aswan and South Sinai.”
The Minister thanked the three comprehensive health insurance bodies (the General Authority for Health Care, the Comprehensive Health Insurance Authority and the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control), and he also thanked Major General Adel Ghadban, Governor of Port Said, for their efforts to advance the medical services system within the governorate, stressing that what Port Said governorate is witnessing Of medical services at the highest level is an achievement for the health system.
The minister affirmed the continuation of following up the level of services provided to citizens benefiting from the comprehensive health insurance system and identifying any obstacles or challenges that patients may face in obtaining health services at the highest level of service, adding that he was keen to listen to citizens who frequent health units and hospitals to know the percentage of beneficiaries’ satisfaction with The service, stressing that accurate surgical interventions such as (open heart, corneal transplantation, etc.) are performed without costing the citizen exorbitant sums.
