Iván Duque, president of Colombia, assured that the massacre recorded in the department of Arauca was orchestrated from Venezuela. In addition, that with this the National Liberation Army adds actions so as not to carry out negotiations to end the armed conflict.
During the World Oceans Summit, held in France, the president stated: “What we are seeing in Arauca, we know where it originates. Of the protection that there is in the Venezuelan territory to illegal armed groups and to the disputes that there are of illicit rents in that country. Clearly we reject acts of violence. But we will also continue hitting all the structures of the ELN dissidents and any terrorist group that operates in Colombia.”
As reviewed by Blue Radio, Duke He reiterated that cooperation with the United States in intelligence matters will continue. This with the purpose of identifying irregular groups that seek to destabilize public order and “gain prominence” during electoral times.
“That is why the cooperation that we are having with the United States in this matter is also very important. Yesterday I warned: many of these groups want to try to gain space and prominence in the face of the next elections. Because our government has not yielded to any of their pressure. And with violence we are not going to look for any possibility neither of agreement nor of negotiation”, he asserted.
