This Friday, The National detected that it is blocked through Internet providers in the country such as Cantv, Inter, Digitel and Movistar.

Twitter users reported that they might not access the website from those providers during the followingnoon of February 11.

The National confirmed that even changing the Domain Name System (DNS) makes it impossible to enter the page. Reason why users require VPN.

This blockade occurs only two days following Diosdado Cabello threatened the editor-in-chief of The NationalMiguel Henrique Otero, for a tweet in which he denounced that a sister judge of Elvis Amoroso gave him the headquarters of the newspaper.

«Now it provokes me to go through the page of The NationalHair said.

“With the value of The National You didn’t pay me, I think now I’m going to go to the page, I think,” he stressed, insisting that the newspaper’s board owes him a debt for allegedly defaming him.

“You are provoking me to go one step further,” he warned Otero.

Judge Lisbeth del Carmen Amoroso Hidrobo, sister of the Comptroller General of the Republic, Elvis Amoroso, on January 27, without having complied with the proper procedure and with her back to The National and his judicial representative, directly awarded the ownership of the headquarters and the land on which it is built to Cabello.

The PSUV vice-president’s attack once morest The National began by reproducing an original report from the Spanish media ABC from Spain, which linked Cabello to drug trafficking.

Other media apparently blocked by the party on the tepuy

But The National is not the only media outlet that is under attack this week.

On Wednesday, First Report He denounced that he was blocked from Venezuelan Internet providers following publishing a note regarding the illegal party that took place on the heights of the Kusari tepuy, in Canaima.

The same day, the Diary As Is reported that it detected a denial of service (DDoS) attack to remove it from the network.

A DDoS attack consists of saturating a server by making multiple requests (page visits), to the point of exceeding the capacity of the server, which leaves it inaccessible.

That newspaper also attributed the attack to the information it published regarding the luxury party on the tepui.
