Mercedes F1, Lewis Hamilton virtually announces 2022 continuation[F1-Gate .com]

Mercedes F1 has virtually confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will continue to be active prior to the announcement of the 2022 F1 machine “W13”.

Lewis Hamilton’s future in F1 was controversial following losing to Max Verstappen in the drivers’ title on the controversial final lap of the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

When asked regarding the future shortly following the race, Lewis Hamilton said, “I’ll know regarding next year,” which was interpreted by many as the possibility of not returning to the grid in 2022, and the boss of the Mercedes F1 team. Toto Wolff also said that he might not guarantee that Hamilton would return.

Lewis Hamilton kept the silence of social media during the winter, but last week he broke it by saying “I’m back” and later Mercedes F1 “Welcome back” wearing a racing suit and holding a helmet. I posted it with an image of Hamilton staring at the wall of the message welcoming him with a smile.

It was a further hint that Lewis Hamilton would stay in F1, but that was mostly confirmed in the Mercedes F1 preview of the 2022 F1 machine W13 announcement on February 18.

In that article, Mercedes F1 calls Lewis Hamilton and his new teammate George Russell “our 2022 driver.”

“On Friday, February 18, we will officially announce the performance of the first machine in this new era, the Mercedes AMG F1 W13 E,” the team said.

“Our new machine will be announced in a digital launch presentation that will be broadcast live across social media channels.”

“Live streams are hosted on official YouTube, Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as on the Mercedes-AMG channel, other partner channels and some broadcast channels.”

“This is a morning launch event in UK time and the live stream will start at 9am Greenwich Mean Time.”

“The show will be livestreamed from the Silverstone Wing, where you can first see the new W13 during a digital presentation.”

“We also have the opportunity to hear from 2022 drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, as well as Team Principal and CEO Toto Wolff.”

“Technical Director Mike Elliott and Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrain Managing Director Highwell Thomas will also be present to discuss the technical changes this season in detail. The 2022 Junior Program lineup will also be on show. Become a part “

After the announcement, Mercedes F1 will carry out a W13 shakedown at Silverstone.
