Ministry of Health makes a strong call so that anticovid vaccination points are not closed

According to the latest data collected by the National Government, 20.6% of the population has received a booster anticovid dose.

During the last Unified Command Post carried out by the Ministry of Health, they called the attention of the Territorial Entities to avoid the closure of vaccination points once morest covid-19.

Gerson Bermont, director of Promotion and Prevention of the portfolio of Health, assured that when these posts are closed “the lines increase, you wait for them, then when the person arrives they say: I cannot spend two hours at this vaccination point; This is creating an access barrier for us.”

Bermont, in addition, delivered the data of the Territorial Entities that have closed the most jobs. These are Cundinamarca (24), Bogotá (9), Nariño (8) and Antioquia (7), among others.

The official also warned that the ones that have opened the most vaccination points are Arauca (13), Boyacá (10), Chocó (8) and Amazonas (8).

The Ministry of Health announced that the country already has 80.3% of the population vaccinated with at least one anticovid dose, 63.7% have their complete scheme and 20.6% received their booster dose.

It was also known that in several regions of the country the vaccination process has been accelerated in recent days. In fact, Bermont indicated that “62 municipalities are above 60%, in three weeks it has been a great achievement and we congratulate the teams.”

Bermont concluded that according to data from the Paiwebthere are 100,554 records of anticovid doses applied abroad to people residing in Colombia.
