The government announced on Friday the reactivation of aid schemes for performing arts and cinema, sectors affected by the health restriction measures put in place during the fifth wave of Covid-19.

Among these, “a specific compensation system” will partially cover “the loss of turnover over the entire restriction period” caused by the ban on sales of drinks and confectionery in cultural places. , the government said in a statement.

“The National Cinema Center (CNC), the National Music Center (CNM) and the Private Theater Support Association (ASTP), which will manage this system, will benefit from support of 14 million euros”, is it specified.

“The sectoral support systems carried by the CNM and the ASTP” will be reactivated to “take into account both the cancellations of shows linked to this new episode of the epidemic and the health restriction measures”, namely the limitation of gauge in effect until February 2 and the ban on concerts in a standing configuration applied until February 16.

Authors, whose copyrights have been reduced when their works might not be played due to the health situation, will be able to benefit from devices that are also reactivated.

Several artistic and cultural employment support schemes will also be extended until July 31. Namely “aid for artistic employment in small gauge rooms (APAJ) and unique aid for hiring on permanent or fixed-term contracts in the performing arts of the National Fund for Sustainable Employment in the Show”.
