Covid-19. The number of tests in free fall in Brittany, the incidence rate too

The incidence rates are down very sharply in all departments: – 1,056 points in the Cotes-d’Armor (1,990 cases per 100,000 inhabitants now); – 938 points in the Finistère (2,117 cases per 100,000 inhabitants); – 1,565 points in Ille-et-Vilaine (2,027 cases per 100,000 inhabitants); – 1,406 points in the Morbihan(2,076 cases per 100,000 inhabitants)

At the regional level, 57,284 positive cases have been detected since Friday February 4.

120,000 fewer tests in one week

This fall in the incidence rate is linked to an impressive drop in the number of tests: from February 3 to 9, 210,404 PCR and antigen tests were carried out in Brittany. This is 120,000 tests less than the previous week.

Another indicator of the epidemic: hospitalizations. At the hospital, the number of Covid-19 patients is down slightly: 634 patients this Friday, or 6 less than a week ago according to the ARS. The intensive care units receive 69 patients (-10).

“Since the beginning of the week, a downward trend has been observed in terms of contamination, indicates the ARS. However, the virus is still circulating in Brittany, as evidenced by the incidence rates. Collective vigilance must be maintained by scrupulous respect for barrier gestures. »
