Beyond the officially announced information, more details regarding Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 are circulating on social media. However, since these have not yet been officially confirmed, you should treat all of them with caution:

  • Warzone 2 is said to have been “developed ‘from the ground up’ due to issues with the original Warzone”. These problems probably stem from the integration with CoD Black Ops Cold War (via Twitter).
  • With Warzone 2, consoles should finally get FoV settings that should go up to 120° FoV. That’s what the community wants urgent already for the current Warzone. Due to technical limitations, this should only be possible with a successor (via Twitter)
  • It is highly likely that Warzone 2 will also get a next-gen version for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
