Arrival of the fifth : 16 -14 – 10 -13 – 2. Non-runners: 1 and 5
Forty-eight hours before the Prix de France, which allows us to see Davidson du Pont, the winner of the recent Prix d’Amérique, the quinté of the day was set at the racecourse of Cagnes-sur-Mer (Alpes-Maritimes). Disputed on the grass over the distance of 2,150 m, it brought together fourteen competitors, following the withdrawal of Norwegian Sir (n°1) and that of Ridwaan (n°5).
Despite his inexperience, he had run only six times, Bakhchisaray (n°16) proved intractable in the final phase. After having waited for a long time at the back, the resident of Fabrice Vermeulen went on the offensive in the last hundred meters before easily getting the better of his opponents in the final phase. This 4-year-old gelding confirms his rise and wins his first quinté for his second participation. Note that Sylvain Ruis’ partner had been caught shortly before the start.
Bakhchisaray (S.Ruis) has a complicated name to pronounce… but also quite a quality one!
The resident of Fabrice Vermeulen wins his 1⃣er Quinté+ following a nice final acceleration ????

He leads by a neck Naishan (n°14), author of a good effort halfway through the finish line and the outsider (51/1), Free Electron (n°10), quickly noticed at the forefront. Away from the leading trio, Go With The Wind (n°13) completes the arrival of the quartet and precedes the favorite by a short neckline, Mr. Xoo (#2). Animator, Into Faith (n°8) fails at the gates of the fifth in front Shamsabad (#4) and Royal Right (n°15).
