Booster dose taken in Oman by foreigners more than locals – more expats than omanis vaccinated with booster dose

Muscat: It is estimated that most of the recipients of the booster dose for the Kovid defense in Oman are expatriates. This is according to the latest report from the Ministry of Health. The booster dose has already been received by over five lakh people in the country. According to the Ministry of Health, most of them are expatriates.

Of the 507,440 people who have already received the third dose in the country, 363,242 are foreigners. Only 144,198 are natives. Oman’s leading data analyst Al Maimani commented that the booster dose is in high demand among foreigners because it is mandatory to travel to different countries.

So far, 66.76 lakh vaccine doses have been distributed in the country. Of these, 32 lakh people were given the first dose and 29.8 lakh people the second dose. The remaining five million doses were given as booster doses. At least 17,70,692 Omanis and 14,20,950 foreigners have taken at least one dose of the vaccine in the country. The second dose was taken by 16,65,562 locals and 13,11,310 foreigners, according to the Ministry of Health. Al-Maimani said the figures show that more than 160,000 people in Oman have not yet received the first dose of the vaccine. There are more than two lakh people in the country who do not take the first dose and the second dose.

The World Health Organization’s Representative in Oman, Dr. Mohd. Jean Jaboor said. It has been shown that taking a booster dose can greatly control the spread of the virus and the number of hospital admissions. He said steps were being taken to intensify vaccination procedures in various governorates across the country.
