Before thousands of supporters, “El Truko” Verástegui closes pre-campaign in Cd. Victoria Ciudad Victoria.- Supported by thousands of sympathizers and militants of the PAN, PRI and PRD, Cesar “El Truko” Verastegui closed the pre-campaign stage in Victory City.

“We finished the pre-campaign renewed, strengthened, united and ready to succeed in what follows. The battles have never been easy”, expressed the pre-candidate of the “Va por Tamaulipas” alliance.

In his speech, Verástegui affirmed that “my cradle was not made of silk, I am not the son of a former governor, I am not a junior, nor a desk politician, that is why we entered this challenge with everything. Work doesn’t scare me.”

And he added: “I assure you that I am ready, I am prepared, to be your next candidate for Governor. I am certain that together, we will be the first coalition government in Tamaulipas.”

Verástegui was accompanied by the state leaders of the National Action parties, Luis René Cantú Galván; of the Institutional Revolutionary, Edgar Melhem Salinas and of the Democratic Revolution, Armando Valenzuela Barrios.

Lived the kidnapping of two brothers, only one returned alive

In an interview with a local media outlet, this Thursday César Verástegui affirmed that he has never had relations with organized crime, as has sometimes been pointed out, and revealed the drama that his family experienced with the kidnapping of two of his brothers.

“Unfortunately, on January 9, 2012, when I was mayor for the second time, two of my brothers were kidnapped and following 39 days they handed Vicente over to me and they continued to harass us so that we would meet all their demands and one day before Easter they lost the communication and we no longer knew anything,” he said.

When asked by the reporter that he had been accused of having relationships with bad people, he replied: “Never, I have never had relationships with bad people, I am not interested and following what I lived through, they destroy everything, I have never done it and I would never do it. For no such simple reason.”

To those who have spread the rumor that he has criminal ties, “El Truko” said the following: “You have no idea how ungrateful they are to say that, because they have not lived what I have lived.”
