A terrible tragedy took place this Wednesday in the course of the end of the followingnoon in the district of Burenville in Liège since a little girl aged just over two years tragically lost her life by falling from the third floor of his building.
According to the first elements collected on the spot, it was enough for a few moments of inattention for the child to escape the vigilance of his mother.
The little girl took advantage of the fact that the latter was busy with another child of the family to go to the window of one of the bedrooms of the apartment.
The accommodation is located on the third floor of the building.
The child thus opened the window of a room.
She then stepped over the window jamb and made a terrible fall of several meters.
Despite the intervention of the emergency services on the spot, it was already too late for the girl.
The little victim lost his life as a result.
This terrible tragedy has, one suspects, caused a major stir in the neighborhood.
The police and then the Liège public prosecutor’s office were informed of the facts.
An investigation to find out the circumstances of this tragedy has begun.
“The child would have managed to open the window of a bedroom while the mother was busy feeding her other 5-year-old child,” said Catherine Collignon, spokesperson for the Liège prosecutor’s office. “The accidental thesis is confirmed”, continues the magistrate.
No autopsy was performed on the victim’s body.
An external examination of the girl was carried out within the forensic medicine of Liège.
The conclusions of the medical examiner make the thesis of the tragic accident completely compatible.
No trace of outside intervention was detected.
