The 2-year-old Venezuelan girl who was in a migrant detention center in Trinidad and Tobago is now with her father. She is the sister of the baby who was killed in her mother’s arms when the Trinitarian Coast Guard shot down a boat trying to enter that country.

On Monday, a relative of both children, Dayselis Salgado, reported in an interview with Sergio Novelli that they were in search of the two-year-old girl.

Smolansky later revealed that the whereregardings of the little girl were known and that she was in the detention centre of Chaguaramas.

“His mother is still in the island hospital. There must be protection for her and her family. In addition, it is urgent that the Public Ministry of Trinidad and Tobago open an investigation into the death of Yaelvis. Justice!Smolansky added.

Indignation and Trinidad and Tobago’s response

Despite the national and international outrage that has generated the death of Yaelvis, only 1 year old, the Trinitarian prime minister, Keith Rowleyon Wednesday, he insisted on calling the case ” an accident.”

In fact, he attacked an opposition leader in his country for referring to the death of the Venezuelan child as a murder. He called her a woman “without a spark of patriotism” for saying that.

And he assured that the Coast Guard was fulfilling its duties since in his opinion the boat might have been full of murderers.
