Historical commentator of the UFC, the American MMA League, and host of Spotify’s most followed podcast, Joe Rogan has an outsized popularity, but quite little success in the medical community. On January 12, a group of 270 doctors, professors and health professionals sent an open letter to the streaming giant urging it to establish a policy “clear and public in order to moderate misinformation on its platform”, where the American animator produces The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE), an intimate talk show watched by 11 million people every day. The former taekwondo champion from Massachusetts has indeed a bad habit of hosting in his show darlings of the antivax sphere, like Dr. Robert Malone, and spreading dubious medical advice. The call to order might have stopped there, but the case turned into a scandal when singer Neil Young threatened to remove his songs from Spotify’s catalog if the platform did not part with its host : “Spotify may have Rogan or Young. Not both. » Spotify chose Rogan.
