Libyan prime minister Abdelhamid Al-dubaiba survived an assassination attempt when unknown assailants opened fire on his car in Tripoli in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A source close to Al-dubaiba said the prime minister was returning home when he fired shots from another car before fleeing, and that the incident had been referred to the public prosecutor for investigation.
