Presidential Election 2022: Marine Le Pen considers a “progressive” retirement system

Work earlier, retire earlier. It is on the basis of this summary calculation that Marine Le Pen plans to set up a “progressive” retirement system if she is elected president. The presidential candidate plans to reserve retirement at 60 with 40 annuities for French people who entered working life before the age of 20, she said Monday evening on France 2.

“It will be gradual,” she explained. All those who will have entered the world of work before the age of 24 will have an advantage “to retire which will be “very important between the ages of 17 and 20” and then “important until the age of 24,” the candidate detailed. Marine Le Pen has so far been considering retirement at the age of 60 with 40 annuities for everyone, a measure that had been criticized even in her own camp.

“I am not giving up the 40 annuities, that’s the foundation” but “for those who started early, that is to say between 17 and 20 years, a “retirement will be possible” at 60 years ” with a full retirement, said Marine Le Pen, who will present her proposals in the matter in “a few days”.

Manual work vs. intellectual work

“The earlier you started working, the more you have to leave at a reasonable retirement age,” she argued. “Because when you start early, it’s often because you do manual work while, when you enter the working life later, it’s often because you do intellectual work that is much less tiring”.

“I refuse to continue to increase the retirement age as it goes along, which means that there are people who will never reach retirement age and will never have a full retirement,” she added.

Questioned in the followingmath on the social network Twitch, the candidate RN blasted the proposal of his far-right rival Eric Zemmour of a bonus for employees without charge, up to three months of wages, at the behest of employers. “He is very very liberal”, “the consequence” of this measure “is going to be the reduction of 20% of salaries because business leaders are going to be tempted to hire people with 20% less wages by telling them you will have the three months of bonuses”, believes Marine Le Pen.

“The group where I get the most abuse is the Bolloré group”

“But it’s not on the basis of premiums that you rent an apartment and get a loan from the bank,” she pointed to the finger. And this measure “ruins Social Security,” she says. Asked regarding her desire to privatize the public audiovisual, Marine Le Pen explained not to do it out of a “spirit of revenge” but to “give back” to the French the 138 euros of the audiovisual royalty.

“To be completely honest, I have sometimes been abused on the public service as well as in private channels (…) For now, the group where I get the most abuse is the Bolloré group,” she said, following having already complained in the past to CNews that she finds too favorable to Eric Zemmour.
