By hypnotizing passers-by on the streets of Paris, Ado Pharaon convinced 1.7 million people on TikTok. He now performs at the Apollo Theater.

You may have met him while walking around Paris. Ado Pharaoh is a hypnotist, who challenges passers-by to exercise his talents. His hypnosis sessions, spectacular, he documents them in videos published on TikTok that have earned him 1.7 million subscribers. And following the notoriety on the networks, he found himself a new playground: the stage.

“The street is the biggest theater in the world,” he explains to BFMTV.com . “This idea of dating, where I get in front of someone I don’t know. I arrive with a proposal; he accepts or not, but in any case it is an exchange.”

“Like superheroes”

Originally from Garges-lès-Gonesse (Val-d’Oise), Adonaïs Yankan (real name) studied neurolinguistic programming for 12 years. The TikTok adventure started during the lockdown, when he started posting videos to help his followers relieve the stress of the moment. Faced with the success, which has only grown since then, he now officiates on the stage of the Apollo Theater, where he gives a show every Saturday between hypnosis and stand-up.

His goal is to prove that this mysterious discipline is not necessarily synonymous with manipulation and that it can have positive consequences:

“We all have this subconscious that is within us and that is able to carry us like superheroes,” he explains. “That’s what I want to raise awareness regarding. This ability to get closer to others, starting with oneself. It’s a hard fight but… ‘I’m ready to fight’!”, he lets go with a laugh.
