Meanwhile, Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya will not play in the Ranji Trophy. It is reported that the decision was made to focus on the return of white ball cricket. The Baroda Cricket Association has announced a 20-member squad ahead of the first leg of the tournament. Hardick’s name was not on the list. Kedar Deodhar and Vishnu Solanki were selected as the captain and vice-captain of the team respectively. The Ranji Trophy starts on February 10.

Hardick has been out of the team since last year’s T20 World Cup. Hardick is at rest due to a spinal injury. Earlier, he was criticized for not bowling in the T20 World Cup. The 28-year-old Hardik has not played Red Ball cricket since December 2018. Meanwhile, Hardik is all set to make his debut as a full – time captain in the CVC-owned Ahmedabad franchise in the Indian Premier League. Hardik’s brother Krunal Pandya has also been included in the squad.
The tournament, which did not take place last year due to Kovid, was scheduled to start on January 13 but was postponed once more due to the third wave across the country.
