Al-Marsad newspaper: The “Personal Status Court” in Jeddah issued a ruling; Judgment to prove the lineage of a child to her father and add her to the family registry, following he accused his wife of giving birth to her before marriage and that she is 18 months older than her twin brother.
According to Okaz, The court ordered the father to extract identification papers for the girl in a lawsuit over the parentage of a twin girl who is several months older than her brother, and the court’s decision gained peremptory status.

The newspaper said that the wife filed a lawsuit before the court asking to prove her daughter’s lineage to her father, while the husband confirmed that the child in question is not his daughter and that she is 18 months older than her twin brother, and was born before his marriage to the plaintiff.
In his testimony before the court, he added: He did not see the newborn until following the birth of his male child, one year and four months, to discover the age difference between the two children, and doubts, possibilities, and suspicions regarding the newborn girl’s disappearance touched him.
Hide the child for fear of envy
The defendant said that his wife and her family informed him that there was another girl child four months following the birth of his male son, and that she was a “twin” of the male-born, and the wife’s family attributed the disappearance to their fear of envy.
For its part, the court said following studying the foregoing of the lawsuit and the answer and what the scholars decided that delaying the denial of the lineage of the newborn requires his acknowledgment of it, because the stay of the newborn with the husband for several months is evidence of his approval of it.
