Writer and publisher Jordi Albertí Oriol dies at the age of 71

The writer, publisher, philologist and historian Jordi Albertí Oriol has died at the age of 71, according to the Institution of Catalan Literature. Born a Cassà de la Selva (Gironès) in July 1950, as a graduate in Catalan philology, he published a hundred works of literary research in the Revista de Catalunya and took care of the notes in the first three volumes of theComplete work by Eugeni d’Ors (1998, 2001 and 2003). He was the co-founder ofEditorial Gregal in May 2011 along with Isabel Sanagustín, a publishing house that was born with the desire to promote dialogue between literature and history. Gregal was forced to close in February 2020 due to medical reasons related to Albertí himself.
As a historian, he wrote ‘The silence of the bells‘ (2007), ‘the burning church‘ (2008) i ‘The path of the staff‘(2010). He also coordinated the publications of the exhibition between 2001 and 2004 It will blossom, the religious expression in the Catalan language in the 20th century.
