A witness stated that the woman who appeared charred had already died during the attack on her car.
Esteban “Pinky” Rocha and Brisa Leguizamón, the couple prosecuted for drug trafficking who got married last Saturday in an exclusive room in the Santa Fe town of Ibarlucea, and who became public information because following leaving the celebration a couple and their baby, is a fugitive following the Federal Oral Court 1 of Rosario ordered his arrest.
The marriage is prosecuted for the crime of “manufacturing, production and marketing of narcotics”, but Leguizamón was under house arrest for having children in charge. Meanwhile, Rocha, continued his process in freedom, since last December, because the Buenos Aires Federal Chamber of Criminal Cassation granted the request for the release of the defense.
Prosecutor Reynares Solari requested the arrest of both for being in clear violation by celebrating their wedding in a room. The Court revoked the woman’s domiciliary, while he was summoned twice but never attended and that is why they were declared in absentia.
After the arrest warrant, they went looking for them but they were not at home and are now fugitives.
Hours following Rocha and Ferreyra’s wedding, a family that had attended the party was gunned down a few blocks from the event hall. It is regarding Iván Giménez (33), his partner Erica Romero (37), and their one-year-old daughter, who were shot on Route 34, when a van intercepted their white Audi TT vehicle. Iván Giménez and his baby died despite being taken to the hospital by wedding attendants who, aware of what had happened, went to the scene. Meanwhile, Erica Romero, who was first assumed to have been successful because she had appeared following several hours, burned in the vehicle in which they were moving regarding 35 blocks from the party room, now emerges from a testimony that died during the attack .
In this regard, the prosecutor of the Intentional Homicide Unit of Rosario, Gastón Ávila, revealed on Monday that a 19-year-old boy, also invited to the event, acknowledged before the Justice that they managed to get Giménez and his daughter out of the car but not the woman, so they asked him to transfer her aboard the white Audi TT to the Eva Perón Hospital, but apparently she was already dead.
“The boy declared that he was drunk, he saw a patrol car and he was afraid that they would follow him, that he did not know what to do until he stopped and decided to set the car on fire – Ávila pointed out -, and he is not yet going to be charged, since I do not see that there is an intention to cover up the murderers or a participation”.
The murder occurred in the middle of a drug dispute between gangs fighting over the sale of drugs in the area. This was expressed by the Secretary of Security of the province of Santa Fe, Jorge Bortolozzi: “The wedding party was not an innocent event, but the movie The Godfather.”
In addition, the official demanded more collaboration between the Federal Justice and the Provincial Justice, since these people “should not be free.” “There is no doubt that this cannot be repeated. The role of the State has to be different, otherwise we will lose the war from the outset. We are always running behind events,” he concluded.
