Resources drew attention to the unexpected departure of ABBYY from the registry CNews and TAdviser. Representatives of the developer told IT publications that the company filed applications for the exclusion of software on its own initiative. The reason for this decision in ABBYY was the non-compliance of products with the requirements of the register of Russian programs.

In total, two dozen ABBYY products (the copyright holder of Abi Production LLC) lost their registration in the registry, while most of them were excluded quite recently, on January 24th. Among those are FineReader PDF, FineReader Server, PDF Transformer, Recognition Server, Smart Classifier, Comparator, Mobile OCR Engine, FlexiCapture, Business Card Reader and other solutions. Of the “survivors” and still have priority in public procurement, only three products appear – InfoExtractor SDK, Intelligent Search SDK and Lingvo.

According to the source of TAdviser, who is well acquainted with the activities of ABBYY, the transfer of the right to software to its American legal entities became the real reason for the company’s products to leave the register. “Yes it is. ABBYY continues to expand its presence in the international market and diversifies its assets in accordance with the company’s key regions of presence. The development of sales in the international market allows us to invest in new areas and technologies and, as a result, provide more jobs for engineers of our R&D centers in Russia, develop research activities and support education in the country”, — said the publication in the company.

ABBYY was founded in 1989 and is one of the leading developers of solutions in the field of intelligent information processing and business process analysis. The company’s offices are located in 14 countries, and the geography of its work covers more than 200 regions of the world. The developer has over four hundred patents and patent applications in the field of artificial intelligence.
