Everton announced the appointment of Lampard as manager on the night of the 31st (Korean time) on the club’s official website. However, Lampard is pushing to reinforce the coaching staff. According to a report by the English daily ‘Evening Standard’ on the 31st, Lampard is planning to hire fellow coach Ashley Cole, who played with Chelsea and the England national team during his active career. Cole took over as the England Under-21 national team coach in July last year. Since then, he has been building his coaching career as a coach for the England Under-21 national team and as a coach for Chelsea’s youth academy. Lampard offered him a coaching job with Everton’s first team.
Aside from Cole, manager Paul Clement will join the Everton coaching staff as a member. Clement has previously coached Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. Since then, he has held managerial positions at Swansea, Reading and Sécle Brugge. He also agreed to accept Lampard’s Everton coaching job offer.
Meanwhile, Lampard, who took the Everton baton, is expected to make his debut in the FA Cup 4th round home match once morest Brentford on the 6th at midnight (Korean time).
