Yesterday, January 29, the festival announced the cancellation of the event, which was scheduled for March 19 and 20 in Medellín.

Bands that were part of the lineup, such as Superlitio, Los Petit Fellas, IRA Punk and Margarita Siempre Viva, announced through their Twitter accounts that they were withdrawing from the lineup for “not sharing with the spirit or philosophy of the festival organizers.” .

All these resignations and, apparently, the inevitable cancellation of the festival, occurred because, as that newspaper recorded, following two years of criminal proceedings, the ninth judge of Antioquia, Adalberto Díaz Espinoza, acquitted in the first instance the well-known Paisa barrista and drummer of the band Tr3s de Corazón, Andrés Felipe Muñoz, for the crime of non-consensual abortion. Shortly following learning of the ruling, Muñoz published a video on his Instagram account celebrating the decision: “A judge of the Republic has just acquitted me and exonerated me from any responsibility for the crime that I was accused of. In concrete terms: I am innocent. I’m happy, I’m happy, because justice has shown it.”

In networks, the indignation of many citizens grew as more details of the case became known and, in addition, explanations began to be asked, but above all, actions, from the artists who would perform at this festival, along with the band.

Yesterday, January 29, and following many of the bands’ resignations began to be known, in addition to the fact that it was made clear that Tr3s de corazón would not participate in the event, the festival decided to cancel.
