Chris Brown… a new rape case

An unidentified woman has filed a civil lawsuit once morest singer Chris Brown, accusing him of drugging and raping her at the end of 2020 in Florida, and seeking $20 million in compensation.

According to the lawsuit, a copy of which was seen by AFP, Chris Brown invited the woman, described as “a choreographer, dancer, model and music artist” to a yacht that was moored near the home of rapper Diddy in Florida on December 30, 2020.
The young woman says that during that evening she drank a glass given to her by Chris Brown, which made her “disoriented and physically unbalanced”.
She accuses the artist of taking her to a room and raping her despite her objection to what was happening.
The lawsuit, which was filed last Thursday in New York, stated that “the painful actions that the plaintiff was subjected to (…) shock and terrify us all.”
The young woman said she was seeking “justice for herself” and hoped it would serve as a “role example” for other women who may have been “at the mercy” of Chris Brown.
The plaintiff’s lawyers, Ariel Mitchell and George Frabek, confirmed to TMZ that their client did not report the rape to the police at the time because she was a medical student and was embarrassed.
On the other hand, Brown wrote on his Instagram account: “Every time I do music, they try to say shit,” without mentioning what was intended.
Brown has been charged with rape in a luxury Paris hotel in January 2019 and is being investigated by a French investigative judge, while the artist, who is not currently prosecuted in any case, has denied the acts.
In 2009, he was convicted of hitting singer Rihanna, who was his girlfriend at that point, and who was unable to attend the Grammy Awards at the time because of her injuries.
