The number of hospitalizations continued its downward trend in Quebec and Ontario on Saturday, a situation that has been observed for several consecutive days in these provinces.

La Belle Province thus reported a total of 2,975 people who are hospitalized with COVID-19, which means that 116 Quebecers have left hospital centers since the day before.
The number of beds occupied in intensive care, however, increased by three people on Saturday, for a total of 231.
Quebec also added 66 new deaths to its toll, a number on the rise, while 48 deaths were reported for the day on Friday. Nearly 3,510 cases of COVID-19 have also been reported among Quebecers who have access to screening centers.
Nearly 63,313 third doses and 2,926 first doses have also been administered in the past 24 hours in the province.
Across the Ottawa River, hospitalizations saw another significant drop with 3,439 Ontarians hospitalized, down 96 from the previous day. The total number of patients had already registered a significant decrease on Friday when 110 people left these services compared to Thursday.
In terms of intensive care, 10 fewer Ontarians have been counted in the past 24 hours, for a total of 597 people.
The most populous province has also recorded 58 additional deaths, as well as 4,855 new cases among people who have access to PCR tests.
On the side of the maritime provinces, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia respectively announced 397 and 503 new contaminations. Prince Edward Island has reported 271 new cases and one death.
Saskatchewan, for its part, mentioned 1,083 additional infections for the day on Saturday, as well as two more deaths.
